A grand jury indicted Yovahnis Roque this week for capital Murder of his daughter, Savanna ‘Savi’ Roque.

Savi was the first of two children, under the age of three, killed in Orange County this year.

“It is capital murder due to the age of the child,” Orange County District Attorney John Kimbrough said. “The sentence is life in prison or the death penalty.”

Yovahnis was charged with capital murder the day following the gruesome discovery of her death. A neighbor called in the incident, according to previous articles published.

Rachel Foster, Savi’s mother, was killed in June 2016 crash in Florida.

Foster was hit by another vehicle and killed at the scene as she was assisting Yovahnis Roque, her boyfriend at the time. Roque, who was also struck, was badly injured.

During the arraignment, Roque claimed the government made him do it.
