Del Papa Distributing Celebrates Employees at Annual Leadership Conference

Texas City, Texas  – Del Papa Distributing hosted its 3rd annual Company Leadership Conference on Saturday, April 7 in Texas City.

The conference focused on the qualities and strengths of being a great leader, learning from our mistakes and leading change.  President; Larry Del Papa, Executive Vice-Presidents; Bill Falkenhagen and Alex Guidroz shared their insights about effective leadership during a panel discussion.

During this meeting three employees were recognized for their outstanding Leadership accomplishments in 2017.   The Del Papa Leadership Awards were created to highlight the hard work and integrity of leaders that enhance the company’s culture and overall performance in the marketplace.  For 2017 the Del Papa Leadership awards were presented to Justin Smith from Victoria as Most Improved Leader and from Texas City Wade Fogelle for Best Developer of People and David Rodriquez for Best Leader of the Del Papa Culture.

In addition, a new award was introduced at this year’s meeting to recognize a leader who used his or her perceptiveness and creativity to identify and recommend an idea that resulted in a significant process improvement.  This year four Del Papa employees were recognized.  For 2017 the Del Papa Process Improvement Leadership awards were presented to Eric Joseph from Beaumont for his role in the Pick to Light implementations in Texas City and Beaumont, Steve Holtsclaw from Texas City for his technology efforts with Pick to Light and Encompass, Sean Atnip from Beaumont for developing a new Sales Scorecard and Jamie DeRouen from Texas City for streamlining the Safety Incident Program.

“We realize there are many aspects that influence a business and its success, however we believe people are the key to our success and our leaders in the company have a crucial role in defining our culture and developing our employees to achieve our goals as a Company,”  said Larry Del Papa.
