Cardinals nip Kelly in season opener

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Cardinals got off on the winning track to start their 2018 baseball campaign Monday night as they squeezed out a 2-0 victory over the Beaumont Kelly Bulldogs at Cardinal Field.

Logan Hamm was able to bring home both Cardinal runs and collected two hits on the night.

Caleb DuBois also collected a pair of hits as they were hard to come by for both teams in the opener.

Both Payton Havard and DuBois pitched for the Cardinals in the victory.

The Cardinals will compete in the Jasper Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
