From staff reports

Southern Nazarene University Chorale and University Singers will perform a free Worship and Praise concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Orange Church of God located at 1911 16th Street in Orange.

The event was arranged by Orange First Church of the Nazarene, hosted by Orange Church of God and promoted by Orange County Long Term Recovery Group.

Orange First Church of the Nazarene is still in recovery mode as the building had four feet of water inside. The congregation is currently worshipping in the dining room area as reconstruction continues in the sanctuary.

Rise Up Orange, as the concert is named, will offer choral singing, contemporary jazz, gospel, Samba, and more.

Samba is a Brazilian musical genre and dance style. Although there were various forms of samba in Brazil with popular rhythms originated from drumming, samba as a music genre has its origins in Rio de Janeiro.

The event is free and open to the public.
