Alma Thibodeaux

Alma Thibodeaux, age 86, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Meadows Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 15, 2018, at St. Therese Catholic Church, located at 1409 6th street in Orange, Texas. The Celebrant for Mass will be father Joseph P. Daleo. Committal and Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Orange, Texas. A wake will be held from 8:00 am until 10:00 am with a Rosary at 9:30 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church. A repast will be held at the St. Therese life center following the committal. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

Alma G. Thibodeaux was born on Friday, September 18, 1931 in Church Point, Louisiana to Theodate and Katherine Guillory. She was married in 1948 to Paul Thibodeaux of Lawtell, Louisiana for 59 years, until he proceeded her in death. Of this union she bore 3 children. Alma was the most loving and caring person. She worked at the Orange Memorial Hospital for 20 years, as well as with Home Health Care for over 15 years. Alma was a lifelong member of St. Therese Catholic Church. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliary in the church. In Alma’s lifetime she was known by more than just her name. All of her children, grandchildren and even her great-grandchildren called her Momma. Family and friends also knew her by Catin (Baby Doll) and Madaine (God Child). She was known to always have her heart and doors wide open, loving and feeding anyone who entered through her doors.

Alma is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul Thibodeaux; parents, Theodate and Katherine Guillory; brothers, Ulysses and Welton Guillory and sisters, Sylvania and Vernita.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul M. Thibodeaux and wife Zena, Debra Thibodeaux and Mark G. Thibodeaux, all of Orange, Texas; Grandchildren, Mark P. Thibodeaux, Demorris M. Thibodeaux and Victoria M. Thibodeaux; Great-Grandchildren, Kayla S. Thibodeaux, Demorris M. Thibodeaux, JR., Mark M. Thibodeaux and Demarcus R. Thibodeaux, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The Thibodeaux family wishes to extend their appreciation and thanks to The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation nurses and staff.
