Several local high school baseball standouts made the All-State Baseball Teams that were recently put out by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.

The Class 4A Team certainly had a local flavor.

Bridge City catcher Schuyler Thibodaux made the First Team along with West Orange-Stark pitcher Jack Dallas. West Orange-Stark third baseman Ryan Ragsdale made the Second Team and Bridge City first baseman Caleb Dubois landed on the Third Team.

Also making it from District 22-4A were Silsbee shortstop Chase Partain and third baseman Trevis Sundgren, who both made the Second Team.

Thibodaux, who was recently selected as the Defensive Most Valuable Player on both the All-District 22-4A Team and the All-Orange Leader Team, helped lead the Cardinals all the way to the Class 4A Region III semifinals this season.

Thibodaux handled a young Cardinal pitching staff well and gave them confidence and was amazing with his bat as well, hitting .446 with 13 doubles and 34 runs batted in.

WO-S’ Dallas picks up Most Valuable Player honors after a superb senior campaign that wrapped up a great four-year run in a Mustang uniform.

Dallas, who will play for Lamar University, was 11-2 on the mound, striking out 119 batters in 81 innings as opposing batters managed just a .154 average against him. He also hit .364 at the plate with a home run, five triples and a team-leading 29 runs batted in.

Ragsdale had an outstanding senior campaign for the Mustangs, earing All-District honors along with Offensive MVP honors on the All-Leader Team. Ragsdale hit a lofty .382 with nine doubles and 28 runs batted in.

Dubois was a All-District and All-Leader Team First Team selection.

Dubois powered his way to a. 388 average while roping eight doubles and bringing in 27 runs.

In Class 5A, state champion Port Neches-Groves had two players on the team as third baseman Austin Bost was a First Team selection and pitcher Nathan Vidrine made Second Team.

In Class 3A, Newton’s Matthew Bohac made First Team as a shortstop while Kirbyville pitcher James Burchett and Buna catcher Dawson Askew both made Second Team.

In Class 2A, Evadale’s Parker Moye was a First Team first baseman and teammate Tyler Torres made Second Team at catcher.
