An informal group of Dr. Elena Ivanova’s close friends gathered for brunch at a Beaumont restaurant on Sat., May 27, to say their goodbyes. Ivanova returned to the Detroit area on Mon., May 29, to complete work on her book about the Russian-born artist, Leon Gaspar.  Her significant other has also taken a new computer job in the same area. Ivanova had dual citizenship in both Russia and the U.S.  She is the former Director of Educational Programs at the Stark Museum of Art.
