Katie Swiere, 18, an Orangefield senior and environment activist, speaks during the rally, on Saturday, saying “so many argue about climate change because they don’t like the solutions that have been presented. It’s not just about hugging trees. It’s about protecting our families homes and the climate.”

South East Texas Progressive and the Orange County Democratic Party hosted a March and Rally Saturday, on 16th and Burton in Orange, to bring awareness to the climate,  jobs and the justice system. Organizer Marci Patronella, of Orange, explained “Today’s event is for bringing awareness to the importance of protecting working families, their homes, jobs and the environment .” Patronella concluded by saying “Everybody in America deserves to have their rights and to have their rights protected.”
