BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Cardinals nabbed a playoff-clinching 15-5 District 22-4A victory in six innings over the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns Friday night at Cardinal Field.
The Cardinals (13-10, 4-5) piled up 12 hits in the victory.  BC displayed plenty of muscle in the big win and had a ton of quality at-bats.

The Cardinals got it going in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as Logan Hamm and Justyn Romero each blasted home runs to help Bridge City establish an early 4-0 edge.
Bridge City did all of the above early against the error-plagued (seven) Longhorns (10-13 and 1-8). Freshman Logan Hamm and senior Justyn Romero, who had four hits, pounded first-inning home runs, lifting BC ahead 4-0.

The Cardinals snagged a five-run inning in the bottom of the third.
Luc Hollier’s got on with a bunt which led to runs as hits were produced by Kevin Gordon, and Schuyler Thibodaux, who had three RBI. Caleb Dubois had three hits for the Cardinals as well.

Jacob Goodman got the win on the Cardinal hill and Romero came in with some relief as the Longhorns mustered just seven hits.
The Cardinals play Tuesday night in their regular-season finale at Orangefield. A win would enable BC to finish third in the 22-4A chase while a loss would put the Cardinals in fourth.
