OCSP rodeo is set to kick off April 28 and 29 at 8 pm, an event for the entire family. Spectators will have a night of entertainment from all aspects of rodeo. Entertainment for all ages, young and senior, men, women and children.
We thank our Sponsors for their support, Orange County businesses but also out of county businesses which have confidence in our event.
Rodeo is a family event. It continues our western heritage. Events for children of all ages to participate, lamb, calf scramble, mutin bustin, Orange County High School Cheerleaders do a lamb chop dressing for bragging rights and $500 prize each night. The women can participate in girls breakaway and barrel racing. The men, steer wrestling, team roping, calf roping and rough stock events. Even the senior can participate in the team roping event.
In addition, we will have The Misfit Cowboy with his Texas longhorn will also entertain throughout the night.
The money that we raise from our Rodeo helps the Sheriff’s Posse raise funds for our Orange County High School senior’s scholarships, this year we will be awarding five.
The money won at our show helps the cowboys to qualify for the finals at the end of the season in the association. Last year our event paid out one of the highest payouts in the association. Therefore, we had the most qualified contestants for each event. We also were in the top 20 of highest added money in the association.
Many spectators and cowboys and their family’s stay in hotels, purchased gasoline, meals and snacks. Some needed farriers and vets.
