Yvonne Elois Fulgham Slayter passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 92. She knew Christ as her Lord and we are comforted by the knowledge that she is with Him. She lived life taking pleasure in small everyday things. She was loved by her family and had many friends. She never met a person she didn’t like and she went out of her way to get to know people.

As young adults, Yvonne and her only sister, Juanice, moved to Orange following their parents to work during the war. They all remained in Orange where Yvonne met and married her husband, Leon Slayter, and had two children. Yvonne was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Orange and in later years the Trinity Baptist Church. She loved her church and Sunday school class. She enjoyed travelling from short trips to long journeys. She was a care giver at heart and she had many devoted friends.
