LITTLE CYPRESS — If it was the last “official game” at The Bear Cave Wednesday, Little Cypress-Mauriceville Team Force closed it with style at LC-M High School.

Team Force erased a 13-7 halftime deficit to down the Nederland Dynamo Dawgs 28-20 in front of a huge crowd as their classmates, teachers and administrators rooted them on.

LC-M hoopsters will be playing their games in the new gym at the high school next season, so it was fitting that Team Force made sure The Bear Cave would get an amazing sendoff.

Fans were on their feet as the lineups were introduced and the National Anthem was played, then the players broke through banners and then the fierce battle took place.

The Dawgs hit some big three-point shots late in the second quarter to take the six-point edge at the half.

However, Team Force would not be denied as they found the range from “three-point land” in the third quarter and then converted some amazing drives and points in the paint to pull away for the victory.

Both teams shook hands and shared plenty of hugs after the encounter, wishing everyone well as they will look for a rematch next year.

Plenty of smiles were had as Team Force was able to hoist the trophy in celebration.

Team members of Team Force included “Leapin” Lorenzo Arteaga,”Bam Bam”Bubba Bradburry, “Mighty” Mason Coppage, “Jumpshot” Joey Guin, Timmy “The Terminator” Hoosier, Kallie “Kayco” McNabb, “Rappin” Sean Rapp, “Sizzlin” Shawn Schoolcraft, “Michael” Jordan Spell,”Mad Dog” Matthew Stebbins, and Aaron “Danger Mouse” Wilson.

The team had plenty of support as well from Team Force supporter Hope Martin and Team Force cheerleader Hayley Hollie.

LC-M varsity basketball players Jordan Garcia, Ayson Simmons, Katon Brown and Braden Bridges were also big assistants in the team success.
