Lifters fare well in both BC and OF meets

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Powerlifting Teams hosted the Bridge City Invitational Meet Thursday and both teams snagged first-place.

The results are as follows for the girls; Shania Dies placed second by lifting a total weight of 565 pounds,

Maggie Garcia placed second by lifting a total weight of 545 pounds, Eva Boudreaux placed third by lifting a total weight of 345 pounds, Sadie Stone placed third by lifting a total weight of 555 pounds, Cassandra Collazo placed fourth by lifting a total weight of 505 pounds, Lacey Pender placed first by lifting a total weight of 660 pounds, Jadyn Cunningham placed third by lifting a total weight of 520 pounds, Hannah Kincannon placed fourth by lifting a total weight of 475 pounds, Autumn Magnuson placed first by lifting a total weight of 720 pounds, Carlee Dearing placed first by lifting a total weight of 730 pounds, Sam Hargrave placed first by lifting a total weight of 705 pounds and, Chloe LeJeune placed first by lifting a total weight of 710 pounds.

For the boys Jake Potter placed first by lifting a total weight of 560 pounds, Floyd Martin placed third by lifting a total weight of 825 pounds. Preston Peterson placed fourth by lifting a total weight of 815 pounds, Tyler Tran placed first by lifting a total weight of 1,165 pounds, Ian Palermo placed second by lifting a total weight of 1,115 pounds, Tristan Bigler placed third by lifting a total weight of 1,085 pounds, Keagan Landry placed first by lifting a total weight of 1,130 pounds, Kaleb Renfro placed second by lifting a total weight of 770 pounds, Jamison Thomas placed first by lifting a total weight of 1,305 pounds, Santos Garcia placed third by lifting a total weight of 1,095 pounds, and Seth Green placed first by lifting a total weight of 1,385 pounds.

Both teams will be preparing to travel to their Regional Meets over the next three weeks.

OF Meet

ORANGEFIELD —The Orangefield boys brought home the title at the Orangefield Powerlifting Meet Thursday.

For the host Bobcats in the Boy’s division, finishing first were Jacob Gulliot in the 148 class (920 lbs) and Aaron Galitz in the SHW division (1,435 lbs). Second place finishers were Gavin Jackson in the 114 class, Quy Tsan in the 148 class, Christian Louvier in the 165 class and Luke Padilla in the SHW division. Brant Hyatt placed third in the 165 class. The regional powerlifting meet will be held on March 10th in Anahuac for qualifying lifters.

In the Girl’s division for the Lady Bobcats, Madison Taylor finished first in the 123class with a total lift of 750 lbs. Taylor was also named Outstanding Lifter on the Light Platform. Linh Tsan also finished first in the 114 class with a total lift of 495 lbs. Second-place finishers were Erica Phillips (114’s) and Julia Droll (165’s). Mclain Down finished third in the 181 class. The regional powerlifting meet will be held on March 2nd in Edna for qualifying lifters.

The West Orange-Stark boys placed second as a team.

For the boys Keyshawn Holman was first in the 181 class with a 1,350-pound total and Shemar Manaway was first in the 198 class with a 775 pound-total.

Jerrick Spencer was second in the in the 181 class with a 1,095-pound total and

Paul Ivory was second in the 220 class with a 1,190-pound total.

Ja’Qualan Coleman was third in the 220 class with a 1,150-pound total.

Bobby Rash nabbed fourth in the 242 class with a 1,140-pound total and

Adrick Mims was fifth in the SHW class with a 1,110-pound total.

For the WO-S girls E’lazian Nickerson took first in the 148 -class with a 655-pound total. Kennedy Queen was third in the 165 class with a 660-pound total and Jachyria Locks was fourth in the 165 class with a 650 pound-total.

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Girls Powerlifting took second place and the boys team took fourth.

Three Lady Bears took first in individual competition: Ceideah Walker – 105 weight class, 325 total, Kelsey Dyson – 259 Class, 640 pounds; and Breanna Dyson – 259+ weight class, 730 total.

Alexia Williams took Second in the 132 class, with 510, as did Sarah Bates – 181 Class with 530. Alexia Trichell earned Third in the 132 class with 510. Both Sydney McGraw and Krystal Alicea took Fourth. Sydney in the 181 Class with 350 and Krystal in the 198 Class with 510 pounds.

Individual standings for the boys include first place winners Victor Davila – 165 weight class, 1135 pound total; Alex Reed – 220 weight class 1330 total; and Grant LaCour – 275 weight class, 1355 total.

Jordan Parks – 275 weight class, took Third with a 1,225 total; Trent Brown – 220 weight class 1,125 total and Super heavy weight, Chris Dyson – 1,140 total took Fourth in their weight classes and Malik Griffin – 242 Class came in Fifth with a total weight of 1,040 pounds.
