The city of Pinehurst code enforcement department expects to receive permit requests from Wienerschnitzel in the near future. The owners recently met with Code Enforcement Officer Harry Vine.

They plan to renovate their restaurant located at the corner of MacArthur and Dal Sasso Drives. The current building will be remodeled, including an upgrade in the restaurant equipment, improvements to their disposal system and resurfacing the parking lot.

Police chief, Fred R. Hanauer III, made two requests during the regularly scheduled Tuesday evening meeting, each request focused on passage of resolutions allowing grant requests to fund equipment purchases. Both grant requests are made through the office of the governor.

An application will be made for a grant from the 2017 Homeland Security Grant Program. If granted, Hanauer has plans to purchase three mobile radio units for the volunteer fire department.

The second application for funds will be made to the Justice Assistance Grant Program for 2018. If granted, the funds received will be used to purchase protective vests. These vests will be issued to each of the police officers on their force. The vests will be additional protection and are designed to repel armor piercing ammunition.
