Filing for local elections begins Tuesday

Citizens interested in running for City Council or local School Boards will be able to start filing on Jan. 18, 2017.

Filing dates were announced at the recent Orange City Council meeting as beginning on Jan. 18, 2017 and ending on Feb. 17, 2017.

Single Member position 3 and At Large Position 6 will be open for new terms. Those seats are currently held by Essie Bellfield and Larry Spears Jr.

The City of Pinehurst will be electing three Alderpersons at Large. Councilmen Dan Mohon and T.W. Permenter along with Councilwoman Sarah McClendon are in seats that will be up for election.

The City of West Orange City Council will also the mayor and two Alderman positions available at the next election.
