Bridge City powerlifters shine at Lumberton Meet

LUMBERTON — The Bridge City Powerlifting Teams had a superb first meet at the Lumberton Powerlifting Meet Thursday.

The Lady Cardinals walked away with the first-place team award while the Cardinal boys captured second.
The girls results were as follows:
JuniorMaggie Garcia placed third in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 525 pounds; Freshman Sadie Stone placed second in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 435 pounds; Freshman Hannah Kincannon placed second in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 390 pounds; Senior Autumn Magnuson placed first in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 680 pounds; Sophomore Lacey Pender placed third in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 580 pounds; Freshman Khloie Brooks placed second in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 470 pounds; Senior Sam Hargrave placed first in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 675 pounds; Junior Kimber Ellender placed second in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 515 pounds; and Sophomore Chloe LeJeune placed first in her weight class by lifting a total weight of 620 pounds.
The boys results were as follows:
Freshman Jorge Rodriguez placed third in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 665 pounds; Senior Tyler Tran placed first in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 1,015 pounds; Senior Tristan Bigler placed second in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 980 pounds; Senior Ian Palermo placed fourth in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 925 pounds; Senior Keagan Landry placed first in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 1,045 pounds; Senior Zayne Trahan placed second in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 1,315 pounds; Senior Jamison Thomas placed fourth in his weight class by lifting a
total weight of 1,185 pounds; and Freshman Santos Garcia placed fourth in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 870 pounds.

The Bridge City Powerlifting team will lift again on Jan. 26 at the Vidor Powerlifting Meet.
