Congratulations to the West Orange, Stark Mustang football team! What an accomplishment…an amazing offense and purportedly the best defense ever brought the Class 4A, Division II State Title to the Orange community again.

This is a great way to end 2016 and brighten Christmas for us all. After a year of much rancor and unpleasantness in our country, this is a needed healing event.

These young men on the team have been taught many things beside football by Coach Thompson and his staff, such as the value of team, discipline and fair play. If you think about it, these are great attributes for future employees.

I call on all of you employers in the Orange area to remember all of the joy and pride these astonishing football players have brought to us. If they should come and ask you for a job to assist with their college expenses, give them a chance to show you what they are made of. Give back to them what they have given us. It may be 4th and long for someone.   Don’t punt.
