Victoria Schueler

Victoria Schueler of Longview, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2016 of pancreatic cancer. She was born on March 23, 1940 in Essen, Germany. In 1960 she married a South African, Bruno Schueler. A short time later she emigrated with her husband to the United States of America. They resided in Wilmington, Delaware, until 1969 and then moved to Orange, Texas.

Victoria was a member of the Service League of Orange and Community Partners. She taught swimming as a Red Cross instructor for many years and participated in the MS Bike Tour from Houston to Austin 17 times. She was a lifelong Lutheran and active in her church. She graduated from Lamar University with a masters degree in education and taught in the Deweyville and West Orange-Cove school districts for 11 years. In 2007 she and her husband moved to Longview.

Victoria is survived by her husband, Bruno Schueler, her daughter Kirsten Banda and grandson, Victor Banda of Longview and her son, Dr. Victor Schueler and his fiancée Kelly Ross, of Knoxville, Tennessee

There will be a Memorial Service at First Lutheran Church of Longview at 3 p.m. Saturday December 10, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for Lutheran World Relief may be made out to Fist Lutheran Church, 3901 Bill Owens Parkway, Longview, Texas 75605. The gifts will be forwarded to Lutheran World Relief.
