Meanwhile With Madeleine…

By Madeleine Fuselier

Hi there! I am a life-long Orangeite who is living in Paris. I am spending this year teaching English, improving my French, and exploring France (and some of its neighboring countries) before heading to college next fall. Keep reading to find out what’s been going on “Meanwhile With Madeleine.” Thanks for allowing me to share my adventures with you!

My sister and aunt are here! It’s been so much fun spending time with them at some of my favorite spots in Paris.

Olivia and Aunt Julia flew in on Thursday, and after dropping off their bags and eating a quick lunch at my apartment, we went straight to Le Zénith to wait in line for a Twenty One Pilots concert (for five and a half hours). Olivia is their biggest fan in the world and she wanted to get as close to the stage as possible. The concert was amazing, but we were all exhausted afterwards. We went back to my place and fell asleep almost as soon as we walked in the door.

Since then, we’ve gone to Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Sacré Cœur, Shakespeare and Company, the Tuileries Gardens, Place de la Concorde, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Pantheon, Saint Jacques Tower, the Galleries Lafayette, Hôtel de Ville, and been on a river tour. We’ve had some amazing meals, climbed lots of stairs, and done a bit of shopping too.

Olivia and Aunt Julia have powered through their jet lag like pros. Unfortunately, I got sick today and had to stay at home while they went to the Centre Georges Pompidou. There’s still plenty of time before they have to fly back to Texas, so I’m hoping that the worst of this sickness is behind me and that I’ll be able to head out with them tomorrow!
