LC-M CC Team garners 11th at State

- Courtesy Photo The LC-M Cross Country Team netted an 11th place finish at the State Championships Saturday to wrap up a superb season.
ROUND ROCK — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Cross Country Team finished in a solid 11th place at the Class 4A State Cross Country Championship at Old Settlers Park Saturday.
Eli Peveto led the LC-M contingent, finishing 22nd overall on the course in 16 minutes, 36.21 seconds.
He was followed by teammates Jackson Baeza (62nd, 17:08.19), Rayce Piper (79th, 17:18.12), Blake Kresser (113th, 17:48.67), Braden Bridges (141st, 18:44.97), Trevor Turner (150th, 20:19.28) and Stephan Kusek (151st, 22:22.58).
Levelland’s Isaac Vargas won the individual title, running a 15:34.20. San Elizario’s Erick Arambula was second in 16:02.09 and Andrews’ Alberto Bejarano was third in 16:04.73.
San Elizario won the team title with 51 points followed by Andrews (144) and LaVernia (149).
