WEST ORANGE — The West Orange-Stark lady Mustangs helped themselves a great deal in trying to secure a playoff spot as they took down the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21 in district action at Lady Mustang Gym Tuesday night.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 3-5 on the district season and will host Bridge City Friday and will visit Orangefield next Tuesday. One more win would seal a playoff berth for WO-S.

Ja’Tajah Vital had 22 kills and nine blocks for the Lady Mustangs.

Shatyra Allen posted 20 kills and six blocks. Elecia Barlow contributed 15 kills, 24 digs and two aces. Gabrielle Robinson notched 60 assists and 22 digs while Natiyah Brumfield had 55 digs, three kills and two aces.
