Open House

Bridge City Fire and Rescue will hold an Open House from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Central Fire Station at 330 Bland Drive in Bridge City. Come meet the firefighters, see live fire demonstration, go through the safety trailer, climb on a fire truck, tour the fire station, meet the Bridge City Police Officers and meet the Medics from Acadian Ambulance.

 

Scottish Society of SE Texas meeting

Scottish Society of Southeast Texas will meet in the Parlor at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1350 N. 23rd Street at Gladys, Beaumont. A covered dish supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program.

Jeffrey Palis, Lamar University Director of the Studies Abroad Office as well as Global Studies, will discuss student possibilities for cultural enrichments while he also works with Faculty leaders who conduct Semesters abroad and exchange programs. Recent short-term experiences for the students have included England and Ireland while Scotland is in the future plans.

Come and discover the enthusiasm that is opening up new fields of study generated by Lamar University.

The public is invited to participate in the Society’s meetings about the Celtic Cultures, their history, beautiful lands, music and a modern travel destination.

5K Walk/Run

Gulf Coast Cajun Festival

The Gulf Coast 8th Annual Cajun Festival starts at 10 a.m. at the V.F.W. Post 2775 located at 5303 16th Street in Orange featuring Chris Miller and the Bayou Root’s. The event will also present King Crowning and other awards as well as a live auction, cake walk and 50/50. Admission is $8 a person or $15 for couples. Admission for children 12 and under is free.

 

Movie Night

The City of Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau will be hosting a Movie Night featuring Hocus Pocus from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion.

Deweyville PSG 2017 will be having a Haunted House at the Old Elementary School in Deweyville at 8 p.m. – until. It will be opening every Saturday after that from 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per person.
