Coker arrested for failure to register/notify as a sex offender

Press Release — On May 18, 2016 at approximately 6:00 a.m. Lake Charles Police Department Sex Offender Registry Detective Corporal Michael Nicosia attempted to serve a warrant at the address listed for Louisiana Sex Offender Troy Scott Coker for Failure to register/notify as a sex offender-pay fee. Detective Nicosia found Troy Coker’s address vacant and was told by Troy Coker’s employer that he had been fired and evicted from his property where he lived and worked.  Troy Coker failed to contact law enforcement as required by Louisiana law of his employment and residence status. His location was unknown to local law enforcement.  Lake Charles Police Department warrants were turned over to the U.S Marshal’s Task Force in Lake Charles.  On May 20, 2016 U.S. Marshal Task Force led by Sergeant Jeffery Morgan located Troy Coker and he was arrested without incident. Troy Coker was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Troy Coker was convicted in the state of Oregon in 2006 for: Count 1) Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree; his victim was a 6 year-old female. Count 2) Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree; his victim was an 11 year-old female. Troy Coker is a Louisiana Tier 3 Sex Offender requiring him to register with law enforcement for life. Troy Coker was also convicted in 14th Judicial District Court in September 2011 for Failure to Register/Notify as a Sex Offender.

Warrants were presented to Judge David Ritchie who reviewed the warrants and placed bonds totaling $152,000.00.
