BC lifters perform well in Vidor

VIDOR — On Thursday night, the Bridge City Powerlifting Team participated in the Vidor Invitational Meet.  Overall the girls placed first and the boys placed second.  Individual results are as follows:

On the girls’ side:

Sophomore, Shania Dies placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 490 pounds.

Junior, Tina Radinovic placed 5th in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 390 pounds.

Sophomore, Lauren Groom placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 755 pounds.

Junior, Alyssa Fukuda placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 645 pounds.

Junior, Carlee Dearing placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 715 pounds.

Freshman, Lacey Pender placed third in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 495 pounds.

Junior, Samantha Hargrave placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 675 pounds.

Senior, Emily Warren placed first in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 860 pounds.

Freshman, Chloe LeJeune placed third in her weight class, by lifting a total weight of 600 pounds.

The Bridge City girls walked away with some top awards.  Lauren Grooms received the Best Lifter Award for the 97 to 148 weight classes.  She also had the best best squat and the best deadlift.  Lauren also walked away with second on bench press.  Emily Warren also took home the Best Lifter Award and in second was Carlee Dearing.  It was a Bridge City sweep on squat.  Emily received the top honor and following her was Carlee in second and Samantha in third.  Emily was first in bench and Carlee was second in bench but came out on top in deadlift.

For the boys;

Sophomore, Nolan Moore placed second in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 675 pounds.

Freshman, Alex Williams placed fourth in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 435 pounds.

Freshman, Floyd Martin placed first in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 610 pounds.

Senior, Jacob Trahan placed first in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1,065 pounds.

Senior, Hollis Snell placed second in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1055 pounds.

Junior, Tyler Tran placed first in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 895 pounds.

Senior, Colt Poole placed third in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1095 pounds.

Junior, Zayne Trahan placed second in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1255 pounds.

Sophomore, Stetson Wilson placed fourth in his weight class, by lifting a total weight of 1040 pounds.

Jacob Trahan was the best lifter of the 114 to 165 weight classes and Hollis Snell took home second best lifter.  On bench and deadlift, Jacob Trahan took home top honors and Hollis Snell brought home second place.  In the bench press competition, Hollis received best bench press and Jacob had the third best bench.

The Bridge City Powerlifting Team will be traveling to Nederland for the Nederland Invitational on February 11, 2016.
