Orange Rotary and Lutcher Theater present concert to benefit Stay and Play program

The Orange Rotary Club and Lutcher Theater are presenting a performance by Francesco Attesti and Matteo Galli from Italy, Friday, February 12 at 7:30 at the Lutcher Theater.   The artists are generously donating their services and travel the U.S. so local Rotary Clubs can make this is a Rotary benefit event.   The Orange Rotary Club’s proceeds will go toward purchase of playground equipment for Little Cypress Intermediate Stay and Play program that serves special needs children, in addition the Lutcher Theater receives a portion and is using their portion to help fund their Arts in Education Program.   Kevin Spencer (Magician, presented at Lutcher Theater several years ago) will be working with special needs children and their teachers on Feb 11 and 12.

The Friday night of classical arrangements on Piano and Organ with Italian artists Francesco Attesti and Matteo Galli will include: Bach, Brahms, Bossi, Galli, Rossini, Ravel and Wagner. The acoustics of the Lutcher Theater and these two accomplished musicians will make for a special evening of classical music.

Francesco Attesti is an Italian pianist of international acclaim. The epitome of Francesco’s collaborative work to date is his performance with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Prague, performing the European premiere of “Chiavi in Mano” by the Pulitzer Prize winning composer Yehudi Wyner. Francesco is a Paul Harris Fellow and member of the Rotary Club Cortona Valdichiana, District 2071 in Italy. Matteo Galli is the chief organist at the St. Maria presso St. Satiro Basilica in Milan, where he is also the artistic supervisor and where he attends to the musical and concert planning furthered directly by the Basilica or in relationship with the most important musical Authorities of Milan.

Tickets go on sale Monday, January 11 online at www.lutcher.org and at 409-886-5535.  Tickets are $25 and $15 for students.
