Special to The Leader

ATLANTA, Georgia — One of the leading Gospel music ministries in America is bringing its live concert back to Port Arthur in January of 2016 with a January 15th stop at Procter Baptist Church.

In the midst of a week-long swing through Texas the Nelons (NEE-luns) have established an international fan base encompassing followers of all ages throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Their program is decidedly high-energy and while they are universally-recognized as Southern Gospel artists, they give equal time to Contemporary and Traditional Christian music. The result? They are just as popular with “youth” audiences as they are with the “Baby Boomers.”

The family group from Atlanta, Georgia has numerous Grammy and Dove Awards to their credit, and they are regular artists on the popular ‘Bill Gaither’ Reunion/Homecoming programs and videos.

Nelons’ concerts are entertaining, to be sure, but each family member is keenly aware of their mission: to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that hearts are stirred and lives are blessed, and that God gets the glory for it all!

The Nelons concert is hosted, jointly, by First Baptist Church of Port Arthur and Procter Baptist Church, and will be held at the Procter location, 4401 Jimmy Johnson Boulevard in Port Arthur. Doors will open at 6 p.m.; the program begins at 7 p.m.

There is no charge for admission to the concert. The churches will collect a free will love offering for the guest artists.
