On the Horizon

Another Christmas has come and gone. But don’t think the excitement is over. On the horizon are events that are certain to give us all plenty to look forward to.

First is a grand celebration on January 10th. The City of Orange is hosting the WOS Mustang football “State Championship” parade celebration. This community celebration will take place at the Orange Riverfront Pavilion in Downtown Orange.

State championships don’t come easy. It takes hard work and discipline to excel week after week. But then to persevere and be the ultimate champion is outstanding. These are qualities this entire school and community should be proud of. The parents, players, coaches, cheerleaders, band, drill team, mascot and the wonderful fans all made their contribution. Mark your calendar. Let’s show this school just how proud we are!

Next up is the 13th Annual Mardi Gras Krewe of Krewe’s Grande Parade January 30th. This annual tradition will feature the usual decorated floats with Krewe members tossing beads and other trinkets to spectators.   Kevin Naquin and the Ossun Playboys will be in concert at the Riverfront Pavilion following the parade. Begin your season of Lent with this annual tradition.

Finally in April you can look forward to the Classic Kick Off Event for The Elite Redfish Series, previously The Redfish Series with Pat Malone. This fishing tournament is a new event for Orange. After successfully hosting Bassmaster events in 2013 and 2015 the organizers of The Elite Redfish Series sought out the City of Orange to host this tournament.

Mark your calendars and look out for more events. This is only a sample of things to come. It’s going to be another good year.

Happy New Year!
