LC-M hoopsters nab 24-4A victories

LC-M girls 42, H-F 24

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears ran their District 24-4A mark to 2-1 by roughing up the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 42-24 on Friday.

Sheridan Rogers had a double double for the Lady Bears, scoring 13 points while yanking down 12 rebounds and added two steals.

Grace Chen contributed 11 points, three steals and a block while Kaitlin McCallon added nine points, four rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Bears return to action Dec. 28-30 at the East Chambers Tournament in Winnie.

 

Silsbee girls 54, OF 43

SILSBEE — The Orangefield lady Bobcats dropped to 2-1 in District 24-4A play after falling on the road to the Silsbee Lady Tigers 54-43 Friday night.

Hanna Lowe led the Lady Bobcats, scoring 18 points while adding four rebounds.

Sabryn Crain had nine points, 17 rebounds and two steals. Bethany Green had five points and 10 rebounds while Emmi Lummus had two points, two assists, five rebounds and four steals.

The Lady Bobcats return to action Dec. 28-30 at the McDonald’s Invitational.

 

BC girls 58, PCA 20

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals stepped out of 24-4A action to defeat Pineywood Christian Academy 58-20 Friday.

Bailee Bacon and Kassidy Wilbur each scored 20 points to pace the Lady Cardinals (9-14, 0-2).

The Lady Cardinals are back in action Dec. 29 at Beaumont Kelly.

 

LC-M boys 43, H-F 28

FANNETT — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears opened District 24-4A action with a flurry Friday night, downing the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 43-28 at Longhorn Gym.

Andrew Daspit paced the LC-M attack with 13 points while Ayson Simmons contributed 10.

Caleb Havard and Jordan Johnson led the Longhorns with seven points apiece.

The Bears will play again Dec. 28-29 at the Barbers Hill Tournament.

In other 24-4A action Friday, the Silsbee Tigers downed the Orangefield Bobcats 96-36.

Bridge City toppled Evadale 55-35 in non-district action with Hunter Wiegreffe leading the way with 10 points.

Both Orangefield and Bridge City will be participating in the Bridge City Classic Dec. 28-29.
