Special to The Leader

ORANGE — Each year Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center transforms its gardens into an enchanting wonderland of lighted displays that delight the young and the young-at-heart with the annual evening Christmas Strolls.

This year, the staff of Shangri La and its parent organization, the Stark Foundation, would like to share the joy of the Christmas season with a special invitation to the area’s First Responder Community in appreciation of all they do each and every day to serve and protect the community. To express appreciation for their sacrifice and commitment, First Responders and their immediate families are invited to attend Shangri La’s evening Christmas Strolls as guests, free of charge.
This year’s Christmas Strolls at Shangri La will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 10, 11 & 12, December 17, 18 & 19, December 22, 23, and December 26, 2015, weather permitting.
The 2015 Christmas Strolls promise to be even more beautiful and inspiring than ever, with original lighted displays, community-decorated Christmas trees, thousands of new lights and even a snowy surprise. Also, the annual tradition of gathering non-perishable food items for Orange Christian Services in support of those in greatest need throughout the community will continue.
Upon arrival, First Responders can follow the signs for Members and present First Responder identification for free admission for themselves and their immediate families to Christmas Strolls on any of the evenings noted above.
Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center is located at 2111 West Park Avenue, Orange, TX 77630 and the main Shangri La Visitors Parking area is located across West Park Avenue from the main vehicular and pedestrian gate entrances to Shangri La.
