Man bites officer, charged with false imprisonment, home invasion

Lake Charles Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Stanton Street for a burglary in progress on Tuesday.

Investigation revealed an elderly female homeowner arrived at her house and encountered a black male on her property, later identified as Justin Freeman. The homeowner began to check her residence due to this suspicious person and when she entered the residence Freeman followed her inside without her permission, locked the door behind him, and assaulted the victim. Officers arrived on the scene and they could hear a female inside the residence screaming. Officers found all exterior doors to the house locked and they kicked in the door. At this time Officers encountered Freeman and he was arrested.

Freeman refused to identify himself to Officers and was transported to the Lake Charles Police Department for booking. While in the booking facility Freeman became hostile and bit a Lake Charles Police Officer on the hand. While several officers tried to detain him Freeman bit the same Lake Charles Police Officer a second time on the leg breaking the skin. The Officer received medical attention for his injuries and has since been released.

Arrested: Justin Thomas Freeman, male, date of birth: August 30, 1990, 405 18th Street, Lake Charles LA, 70601 is being held at the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on the following Charges with no bond.
