Lady Bobcats, Bears nab net playoff spots

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats and Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears sealed District 24-4A volleyball playoff berths Tuesday night.

The Lady Bobcats defeated Hamshire-Fannett in a five-game thriller 25-24, 30-28, 17-25, 19-25, 15-11 on the road while LC-M made a clean sweep of Hardin-Jefferson at home.

Sabryn Crain paced Orangefield with 21 kills, 12 digs and three aces. Julianne McManus had 14 digs and 11 kills while Rebekah Newell notched five kills.

Both Orangefield and LC-M are tied for the third playoff spot and will play Friday at a site to be determined to see who will get the third and fourth-place playoff seeds.

Silsbee (10-2) is the 24-4A champion while West Orange-Stark (9-3) is the runnerup. H-F finished fifth at 5-7 followed by Bridge City (4-8) and H-J (0-12).
