Courthouse assault leads to arrest

ORANGE — On Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Orange County Courthouse, on the south side of the building, a reference to an assault was reported.

There was reportedly some loud talking coming from the outside area.

There were three white males standing on the sidewalk and they were asked what was going on.

Michael Parrish assaulted one of the males. Parish was visually upset with the victim at the time of the incident, according to police reports. The victim was feeling pain at the level of six on a scale of one to ten and the victim completed a witness statement wishing to press criminal charges.

Redness was observed to the left elbow area of the victim’s arm, where he advised he was having pain. The victim didn’t wish to seek medical treatment at the time of the assault.

Parrish was placed into custody for Class A Assault since he intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly caused the bodily injury to another.
