LC-M, BC CC teams run well

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville cross country team fared well at the Liberty Cross Country Invitational over the weekend and the Bridge City Cardinals ran well at Round Rock.

Eli Peveto captured second place overall, competing up in the Class 6A-5A Division. Peveto covered the three-mile course in 16 minutes, 55 seconds.

The Bears also competed as a team in the Class 4A-and-Under division and finished second overall.

Rayce Piper led the Bears, finishing third overall. He was followed by teammates Blake Kresser (fifth), Jackson Baeza (eighth), Cameron Blanchard (20th) and Brad Couture (38th).

The Lady Bears took third-place overall in the 4A-and-Underdivision. Oliviaa Keltz placed eighth followed by teammates Kilon Gillis (14th), Rylee Locke (21st), Megan McKinley (23rd) and Alora Jones (25th).

The Bridge City Varsity Cross Country team ran today at the McNeil Invitational in Round Rock. Both guys and girls competed with both guys and girls all scoring personal records. Coach Knight is proud of all the hard work his team put in to this weekend.

Graydon Glover led the Cardinal boys, finishing 51st with a time of 17:38.16. He was followed by teammates Kyler Morse (55th, 17:43.42), Ruben Valencia (56th, 17:45.97), Isaiah Maldanado (86th, 18:17.61), Nolan Moore (152nd, 19:00.49) and Edward Doan (163rd, 19:06.84).

Caitlin Denison paced the Lady Cardinals, finishing 76th with a 12:59.07. She was followed by teammates Brittany Fonville (85th, 13:07.24), Izzy Brooks (208th, 14:11.63), Katy Torbett (228th, 14:17.04), and Riley Dugas (333rd, 15:23.67).
