Texas Land Commissioner, George P. Bush has been absent from his elected post a large percentage of time. He has been out of state campaigning for his father, Jeb, in his quest for the Presidency.

The Land Commissioner is responsible for managing billions of dollars of state assets, investments, and mineral rights. The agency oversees 13 million acres of state public land.   Bush chairs the Texas Veterans Land Board and several other key state boards and commissions. In his absence, duties have been relegated to unelected bureaucrats. Desertion to campaign for Jeb and putting politics before his duty to Texas questions Bush’s ethics. This constitutes welfare for the rich as he is receiving full pay and benefits from the state while absent from his job. Responsibility for the Alamo has recently been to assigned to the Texas Land Commissioner’s office. However, Bush did take time to remain in Texas long enough to use his position to place the Alamo under UNESCO designation, a branch of the United Nations.   Bush has surrendered the sovereignty of Texas to an international body.

Due to irresponsibility and disloyalty as a public servant Bush should resign immediately. He should never be governor of Texas.
