ORANGEFIELD – Orangefield football fans might be treated to a track meet come Friday night when their Bobcats entertain the Houston Worthing Colts.

The Bobcats (3-2) will be rolling in with some confidence after they went on the road last week to defeat Newton 24-21, marking the second year in a row that the Bobcats have knocked off the powerful Eagles.

The Colts will check in with a 4-1 mark and will have plenty of blazing speed flying around the field.

It should be a nice battle to watch as the Bobcats will look to keep the ball away from the Colts as they will look to extend drives, like a distance runner while the Colts will look to attack like a 100-meter sprinter.

Worthing has not been shy putting points on the board. The Colts have victories over Houston Milby (66-30), Houston Sharpstown (50-36), Houston Nimitz (54-32) and Tomball Concordia Lutheran (52-33) and a loss to Houston Kinkaid (56-36).

The Bobcat defense will be honed in on Worthing quarterback Alfred Robertson. Robertson has completed 45-of-79 passes for 961 yards and 11 touchdowns and has rushed for 852 yards and 10 TDs on 71 carries.

Running back Tyshau Cox has zipped for 534 yards and seven TDs on 52 totes while receiver Johnitz Robertson already has 30 catches for 745 yards and nine scores.

Orangefield quarterback Matthew Watkins has been chewing up the yardage on the ground. After zipping for 164 yards against Newton last week, he now has 595 yards on 87 carries for the season.

Running back Christopher McGee also went over the 100-yard mark against Newton and now has 354 yards on 60 carries. Wesley Frillou, Hunter Evans and Austin Moore have also provided some nice backfield punch for the Bobcats.

This will mark the final non-district tilt for the Bobcats, who will open up District 9-4A Division II play next week at home against Hardin-Jefferson.
