Volley roundup: Lady Bobcats down WO-S

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats improved to 3-2 on the District 24-4A season as they slipped past the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs 17-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22.

Sabryn Crain had a big night at the net for Orangefield as she notched 23 kills to go along with 17 digs, three aces and a block.

Julianne McManus put together 16 digs and eight kills. Rebekah Newell notched six kills, four blocks and three digs while Evie Arceneaux had 17 digs.

Aaliyah Teel posted 15 kills, 30 digs and 13 blocks in an amazing effort for the Lady Mustangs (2-2 in district) while Phillis Jones had 30 digs.

Orangefield has a bye Tuesday and will visit Hamshire-Fannett next Friday. Meanwhile, the Lady Mustangs host Hamshire-Fannett on Tuesday.

In other 24-4A action Friday, the Bridge City Lady Cardinals (10-13) saw their district mark slip to 2-2 after falling to the Silsbee Lady Tigers 25-14, 25-9, 25-9.

Bridge City will return to play Tuesday when they visit Hardin-Jefferson.

Deweyville defeated Kirbyville in volleyball Tuesday, by a score of 25-7, 25-11, 25-15.

The Deweyville serves devastated the Lady Wildcats, racking up 23 aces on the night.  Shaylin Dupuy passed out 21 assists, had 7 digs, and added 6 aces.

Gabby Dupuy pitched in 4 aces and 16 digs.  Kennidee Willis hammered out 5 aces, 4 kills, and 6 digs.  Brooked Smith contributed 8 kills, while Grace Nicholson tallied 7 kills in 10 attempts.  Madyson Berry added 3 aces and 2 digs, while Sr. Mallory Hand accumulated 3 aces and 3 digs for the Lady Pirates.  The win improves their record to 26-3 (3-1 in district).  The Lady Pirates will travel to play Hardin today at 10 a.m.
