Top Ladies of Distinction shine positive light for Men of Valor

ORANGE – An organization normally honoring women in the community opted to change direction and honor Men of Valor for their contributions to the make a difference.

Top Ladies of Distinction Oran Je Chapter honored Men of Valor during a special dinner on Saturday at the VFW, 5303 North 16th Street in Orange. Top Ladies Of Distinction, Inc. was chartered in the state of Texas on September 8, 1964 as a non-profit educational, humanitarian organization by providing opportunities Top Teens of America, Senior Citizens, Community Beautification and Community Partnership.

“We make education fun while building character traits encouraging giving back to the community,” Marcia DeLaRue said concerning the Top Teens of America. “This time we want to honor the men who are giving back to the community.”

Each of the 22 men honored were introduced to the audience and recognized for their contributions to the community as well as fun., interesting facts such as favorite foods and color.

Each of the honorees are known for making a difference in community by giving back such as volunteering and mentoring the youth in the community.

The men honored are Kelly Price, Sr., Walter Riedel, Wallace Spenser, Rev. CW Crawford, Charles Guillory, Leo Jackson, Jackie Mayfield, Freddy Broussard, Rev. Van Barnett, Rev. Franklin Gans, Sr., Eric Mitchell, Gene Edgerly, Demetrius Hunter, Xavier King, Sr., Rev. Derrell W. Foster, Ishmeal Jack, Clarence Murray, Pastor Demetrius Moffett, Chris Gyasi, Wayne Sparrow, JC Bilbo and Dwain Bouillard.

Each man was given a certificate acknowledging being a Man of Valor.
