ORANGEFIELD — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals started off District 24-4A with a big road win Tuesday night, defeating the Orangefield Lady Bobcats 14-25, 25-16, 25-12, 23-25, 15-12 at Bobcat Gym.

Sabryn Crain led the Lady Bobcats (0-1 in district) with 15 kills. Julianne McManus had 11 digs while Rebekah Newell had four blocks.

The Lady Cardinals (1-0 in district), who had no stats called in as of presstime from their big win, will return to 24-4A action Tuesday at home against Hamshire-Fannett while the Lady Bobcats will compete in the YMBL Tournament Thursday and Saturday and will visit LC-M next Tuesday
