Lake Charles – Yesterday morning around 10:00 a.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a hunter finding a body, identified as Jody L. Barlow, 33, from Starks, in the woods near the Calcasieu/Beauregard line off of Old River Road in Starks.

The investigation has revealed Barlow received trauma to his body so his death is being ruled a homicide. The cause and manner of death are pending the coroner’s investigation.

During further investigation detectives discovered that Barlow’s truck, which is described as a grey 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 with Texas tag DML1716 along with a 2015 Polaris Ranger 900 XP with a tandem axel trailer are missing.

If anyone has seen Barlow’s property, knows the whereabouts of his belongings or has seen or spoken to Barlow since Tuesday afternoon is asked to contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 491-3605.

The investigation is continuing with all leads being followed.
