The Fall season is right around the corner and the Guild is going back to their old schedule. We will be meeting the first Tuesday of the month starting in September and at the same time of 6 p.m. Tena Sanford, a local Guild Member, taught again this month. Sanford has a passion for teaching a technique to parents, grandparents, etc. on teaching their kindergarteners, how to create essay’s even before they can write their name.

Sanford based her study and teaching technique developed by Chris Biffle known as “Whole Brain Teaching.” It allows you to engage kindergarteners in punctuation, capitalization, simple sentences to complex all on hand movements and non-tangible motivation. It was a very interesting approach and seems to be catching fire with schools around the country. The Guild participated in reading a children’s book using the hand motions, which turned out to be very comical.

Please join us next month on the first Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at 6p.m.  We are anticipating a Speaker for this meeting and will announce them in a few weeks. We meet at The Brown Hearing Center, 105 Camellia in Orange. The Guild does not presently charge dues.
