An old face will return to the local baseball diamond while a new volleyball coach will be taking over a program in Orange County.

Brittany Stevens will take over the head coaching duties for the Orangefield Lady Bobcats volleyball program.

Stevens is replacing Meagan Adams, who took an assistant job in the Cypress area in Houston.

Stevens was the freshman volleyball coach for the Lady Bobcats last season and has been the head girls track coach the last two seasons.

Stevens has been busy this week with the Orangefield Lady Bobcat Volleyball Camp. Official volleyball practice for all local teams will begin Aug. 3.

Sam Moore, who was a former head baseball coach at both Bridge City and West Orange-Stark and an assistant at Little Cypress-Mauriceville, is back in the game after operating his own hitting and pitching business for several years.

Moore, who was a former standout at WO-S in his playing days, will be an assistant coach for the Bridge City Cardinals and coach Chad Landry.

Moore replaces former Cardinal assistant Elmer Laird, who took the head coaching position at Sabine Pass.
