Martha Tallent was the speaker and instructed the group on the five points in writing during the Tuesday, Orange County Christian Writers Guild monthly meeting.

Tallent gave tips on how to generate information to figure out what the best title will be for ones work. She also stressed the importance of writing what one knows and making one’s work personal.

There was a lot of discussion during and after the teaching about things that could help in one’s writings.

One member brought up that the English language owes a great debt to Shakespeare. He invented over 1700 of our common words by changing verbs into adjectives, changing nouns into verbs, connecting words never before used together, adding prefixes and suffixes, and devising words wholly original. So if you can’t find the right word for your project, make one up like Shakespeare did. The next monthly meeting is on August 11^th at 105 Camellia, Orange at 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
