A grant administered by the General Land Office is funding the replacement of several bridges and culverts that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Ike and the resulting cleanup efforts. Three drainage structures on Bessie Heights, between Turner Road and Farm To Market Road 408, will be replaced with new concrete box culverts.  Work on this project has begun with the placement of signs and delivery of materials. Bessie Heights road will be closed to thru traffic during construction. The closure is expected to last for approximately four months. Detour signage will be installed to assist traffic in routing around the closure. Project funding is $ 791,660.40. MK Constructors are the contractors for the construction of the project.
