Jimmie Lloyd Carmack  April 17, 1938 to June 16, 2015

Jimmie Lloyd Carmack, age 77 passed away peacefully at his home in San Marcos Texas after bravely enduring a lengthy illness.

Jimmie was born in Kelly, Louisiana to Celia Riser and Lloyd E. Carmack.  His family is celebrating his life by remembering his love for the great outdoors. Some of his happiest days were spent hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Jimmie is also remembered as being an excellent carpenter.  His skilled carpentry is a part of every family member’s house in some way, shape or form.  He was the first one called for any size remodeling job, from the simple honey-do list, to major restorations. Jimmie built two houses for his wife Phyllis, and filled them with hand-made beautiful furniture and cabinets that he created in his woodshop, making them a loving home for his family.

Jimmie’s life-long partner, friend and wife, Phyllis Karon Johnson preceded his passing only weeks before he found peace and rest. His life is celebrated in knowing that they are once again together.

Jimmie was very proud of his family and is survived by his daughter, son and other close family members, who all have a lifetime of memories of their travels together, holidays, and stories from the back porch swing.

Karon Carmack Lee, Jimmie’s daughter, and her husband Perry live in San Marcos, as does their son Brandon Lee.  Our family remembers Brandon was often referred to as “Jimmie;s favorite grandson” and photos lined the walls of Jim and Phyllis’ home.

Jimmie’s son Lloyd Carmack and partner Walter Correa live in Dallas with their beautiful daughter Madison. Jimmie had a special place in his heart for his “little doll” Madison.  The love of their children and grandchildren kept the holidays alive, fun and festive, as all would come home to be with Momo and PawPaw.

Jimmie’s sister Theresa Van Meter and husband Mike live in Orange TX as do other members of the family.

Jimmie will be laid to rest next to his wife in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange TX.  Arrangements to follow.
