PINEHURST — With walls painted in hues of pink, Simply Sweet Treats has a vintage atmosphere while filling the air  with baking pastries.
Cheri Walston, owner of Simply Sweet Treats, is opening a bakery in Pinehurst Wednesday.
“I have had a commercial business at my residence for three years,” Walston said. “Liz Hogan suggested a store front.”
Walston knew it was time to expand when she had to turn away orders from her home business.
“At home we did all custom cakes, simple cakes and other baked goods,” Walston said. “We will offer wedding cakes, groom cakes, and other cakes such as carrot cakes as well.”
The bakery also offers an area for customers to sit and enjoy freshly baked cupcakes and cookies.
The bakery will accept call in orders and will deliver with notice.
“We are already receiving call in orders,” Walston said the day before officially opening.
The bakery will offer a wide variety of cookies from chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and sugar cookies.
“We also offer cut out cookies for custom orders,” Walston said.
