ORANGE – With one voice, one vision, a group of residents hope to have one victory in changing the community for the better.
Citizens and church leaders gathered to discuss solutions for the Orange community on Thursday during a Town Hall meeting held at Orange First Church of God.
“We want to be proactive, not reactive,” Pastor Demetrius Moffett said. “This is a gathering for the sake of solutions.”
Moffett also said residents see what is going on in other areas of the country which could happen here.
“We do not want to wait for turmoil to knock on our door,” Moffett said. “This is for the community.”
Rev. Deborah Mitchell spoke on the importance of communication during the hour long meeting.
“We need to talk about improving our community and implement those ideas,” Mitchell said.
Town Hall meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month. The next meeting is 7 p.m. July 23 at Salem United Methodist Church in Orange.
