Spanky’s Bar and Grill, 1703 North 16th Street in Orange, received an 87 during a recent routine inspection. Demerits included an employee drink without a lid or straw, several flies found throughout, and several areas in need of being cleaned and equipment in need of repairs.
Pinehurst BBQ and Steak, 2100 Texas Ave. in Bridge City, received an 87 as well during a recent inspection. Demerits included buckets of food stored on the floor inside the walk-in cooler, several gnats in the storage area, and defrosting meat inside a bucket of water.
Market Basket #42, 11916 State Hwy. 62 in Mauriceville, received a health score of 90. Demerits included the store had used a permanent marker to price cantaloupes, and a mouse found on a sticky trap in the dry storage area.
Market Basket #42 Deli, 11916 State Hwy. 62 in Mauriceville, received a 94 during a recent inspection. Demerits included several flies throughout the deli area, and floors and equipment in need of being cleaned of old foods.
Happy Donuts, 495 South Main Street in Vidor, received a health score of 92. Demerits included sausage and boudin at unsafe temperatures.
Kim’s Donut Place, 3041 Hwy. 12 in Vidor, received a health score of 95. Demerits were for sausage found at unsafe temperatures.
Taco Bell #17249, 2929 16th Street in Orange, received a health score of 97. Demerits were for mold found on the drink dispensers and the walls behind the equipment in need of being cleaned of old foods.
Cardinal Snow Cone Stand, 215 Hebert Street in Bridge City, received a 97. Demerits were for the need to clean the storage shelves of old syrup and to repair or discard all broken and unused equipment.
