Subject: temporary road closure of Thomas road at the bridge (1000 ft east of FM 1442)

Length of Closure: estimated length of closure is five months

Project Funding: $ 534,172.40

A grant administered by the General Land Office is funding the replacement of several bridges and culverts that were damaged as a result of Hurricane Ike and the resulting cleanup efforts. The wooden bridge on Thomas road will be replaced by a new concrete bridge.  Work on this project will begin next week and is expected to last for approximately five months.  During construction the bridge will be closed to all traffic.  Detour signage will be installed to assist traffic in routing around the closure.
