PINEHURST — Eagle Riders donated time and money back into the community on Saturday.
The group affiliated with the Fraternal Order Of Eagles Sabine Aerie #2523 spent the morning mowing and  weed-eating Pinehurst City Parks.
The group also painted barbecue pits and will replace the grills so the units may once again be used by citizens for an afternoon picnic.
A picnic would not be complete without a picnic table. With the assistance of Home Depot, the group was able to purchase picnic tables for the park located on Park Ave. near 28th Street.
“We are renovating the Pinehurst Park for kids and family fun,” Jeri said. “On the agenda is a walking track.”
The group also bought swing sets and extra swings for the children to enjoy.
The project part of the community service the group participates in to give back to the community.
Pinehurst Mayor Joseph L. “Pete” Runnels said he was excited to see the work the group did at the park.
“We had a good turn out,” Runnels said. “They worked hard.”
The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization, unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills, and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.
Eagle Riders is a group of Fraternal Order of Eagles member motorcyclists who promote the Eagles and its causes, while doing something that they love – riding motorcycles.
