Man robbing store flees after spotting police parked outside

A man robbing Crawdad’s, at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday night at 4080 Interstate 10 West in Orange, fled on foot after spotting a police officer parked in front of the store.
The clerk, according to a police report, said he was in the utility room of the store when a male approached him with a handgun. The suspect lead the clerk to the cash registers in the front of the store where he removed an unspecified amount of money.
As the man and clerk spotted the officer parked in front of the store, the suspect ran from the store.
The clerk ran to the officer to report the robbery.
Orange Police Department with the assistance of Pinehurst Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Office searched for the suspect.
The suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a hoodie, blue jeans, and ‘corn-rolled’ hair.
